I’d like to congratulate Jake Porter, who comments here regularly, on his new position. I’m sure he will do a fantastic job.

Phillies Campaign Expands Lead Staff
The Phillies 2008 Campaign announced the appointment of Charles Wilhoit as Campaign Chairman, Jake Porter as Chief of Staff, Jeff Wartman as National Mobilization Facilitator for Volunteer Operations and Carolyn Marbry as National Mobilization Facilitator for Electronic Operations.
“For more than a year and a half,” said George Phillies, “I have been doing the extensive early development that is crucial to building a strong campaign, and that hard work is paying off. What started in April 2006 with two has expanded to an army of volunteers and a few part-time paid staff, working every day to build the campaign and bring my message of peace, liberty and prosperity to all Americans.”
From its beginning with no more than the candidate himself and a treasurer, the campaign now has a large core staff, state coordinators and close to a hundred volunteers. “There’s plenty of work still to be done. We can always use more volunteers,” said Carolyn Marbry. “But at this point, we are well ahead of any of the 2004 campaigns.”
Jake Porter agreed, “The campaign staff and volunteers continue to prove that we are running a well organized and credible campaign not only for the Libertarian Party nomination, but for the general election.”
“The two large parties may have more campaign volunteers,” added Dr.Phillies, “but my volunteers are Libertarians. They do more than volunteers in other parties. What’s more, they are competent. Just as Libertarians, if elected to office, will be competent.”

I finally figured out what’s wrong with my LFV account. It will only publish if I don’t choose any categories. Any idea why?
No, have you tried emailing the admin about it? I think several people might be having that issue.
Congrats to Jake and glad to see you posting here again.
Are you still posting at my blog too?
I sent an email to admin back when you first suggested it, but didn’t hear back. I’m not even sure if he got it, but I didn’t get a failure notice.
I’m still posting at your blog, I just haven’t seen anything recently to post there. I was getting ready to post this on your blog though, so it should be there in a few minutes.
Cool, got it.
I don’t know how to get a hold of admin or Stuart too much either.
I have admin status here now too, but not enough tech end knowledge to deal with stuff like that.
Anyone want to try to help tackle it?
Here are some of the things I would do if I knew how
1) Move recent comments above blogroll
2) Put up a tips@lfv type email which we can either all check, or automatically goes to all the LFV authors, which anyone can post to from the front page.
3) Maybe a link to go to page (x) from the front page?
Not strictly related, but I want to add blogtalkradio and video blogging capabilities. Need help with that if anyone wants to do it.
Changing the site requires admin status, so nobody else can do it.
However, I might be able to walk you through some of it, based upon my wordpress blog.
Look under “presentation”. When you click on it, there will be a list of categories in the black bar. Click on “widgets”. From there you can rearrange, add and delete things in the sidebar with a simple drag-and-drop procedure.
The rest may be a CSS upgrade. That’s located under presentation as well, but it’s not free. You can find out for sure by clicking on “support” on the upper right-hand side of the page, which brings up a list of features.
That’s a negative point of wordpress vs blogger for complex blogs. With blogger you can add anything you want by simply inserting the html, at no charge. It doesn’t seem like you can do that with wordpress.
I can upgrade people to admin status.
There’s no widgets menu item in LFV, under presentations there’s only themes and theme editor.
Hmmmm …. on mine, I get themes, widgets, extras, custom image header, and edit CSS. Is it possible that you don’t have full admin status? Or is this another version of wordpress?
It’s a custom version.
In that case, I’m lost. Sorry.
Set you to admin.
Okay, I’ll take a look and see if I can figure it out for you.
Paul, check your email.
OK, thx
Thanks.
