From the Houston Chronicle:
Daniels says what makes his $249 lock special is its strength, its built-in panic-button feature and its looks. The lock, which fits across the entire door frame, can withstand 4,000 pounds of pressure, he said.
And according to a video he uses to promote the lock, a SWAT team using a 30-pound battering ram could not break through a door fitted with the Ultimate Lock.
Once pressed, the lock’s panic button alerts the police that there is a problem at the residence. Daniels said the button is designed to be wired with existing or new home alert systems and homeowners will need to work with their security companies to set up the optional feature.

Awesome if true….of course that might just lead to the use of heavier battering rams.
A “corbomite” device would be more appropriate.

Fine. Make ‘em sweat.
Have they already announced the legislation to ban these?
Oh great. Greased pigs!

The simplest and most effective door lock is simply two 2×4′s with a mechanism on the inside of the door to rotate them into barring slots that can be key operated from the outside either 2x4s or steel bolt work like a vault door also the door has to be reinforced steel. It would work as well as any security door but would look ugly on the inside. DIY to the max.
Man if anybody who lives in a high crime area is viewing this I bet they are just drooling whishing they had this lock.
Hope they consider it for their Christmas/Birthday list the way the USA is heading to pot real fast with this economy.
I bet the legeslation will ban this like they want to ban guns to law abiding citzens so they won’t have the rights to self defense.
