Next Prez Blog: Kubby still leading Libertarian candidates
“Steve Kubby (steady) — appears best positioned among the leading LP candidates to continue building momentum for his campaign if Ron Paul draws donations and volunteers away from the party for his Republican primary bid. …”

And this item seems kinda counter-intuitive….

First off… they’re inviting Gene Chapman to that shindig? WTF!? Man that guy does not need the credibility that comes with getting pissed on by the NVLP, let alone debating there…!
Christine Smith, George Phillies and Steve Kubby are really the only viable candidates at this point for the LP nod.
As for Kubby winning a conservative poll… WTFhuh? That makes no sense but if he continues to get press like that, I think that’d do a lot to shake his pot-smoking image among non-libertarians.
I think the radio show with 11 million listeners, if that’s really true, is pretty awesome.
I’ve never heard of it, but then I again I pretty much quit listening to talk radio after they went all fascist since Bush has been in office and especially since 9/11.
Just in the last couple of weeks I’ve started listening to some libertarian blog talk radio shows on the computer, but usually I like listening to music if I have the radio on.
It would be hilarious if Elfino’s Mom signed up for any presidential debate where Chapman is included just to fuck with him. After all she is also a candidate, LOL.
Knapp tells me he has some big things in the works, but asked me not to talk about them until they happen.
Will this make my Rudy Giuliani stocks on trendio rise? http://www.trendio.com/word.php?language=en&wordid=97
Paulie,
The “11 million listeners” is a claim for the network in question — it looks like they have a lot of cable and satellite TV markets, and some pretty big shows (Medved, Mancow, etc.). I don’t know how many listeners Sears has. His show is actually called “We The People,” not “Keep It Simple” — I think that last was a result of a bad phone connection.
In other polling news, Steve is also in the lead in the Orange County LP poll, but it’s a pretty weird candidate assortment there and doesn’t include George Phillies or, I think, Christine Smith.
I don’t put too much stock in this kind of Internet polling anyway. The sample is self-selected, the polls aren’t very secure versus “stuffing,” etc.
I understand that someone — probably George — is already doing some more rigorous polling of past delegates. It’s on the Internet, but the sample is more objectively selected and it’s a detailed questonnaire, not a “click and go.” That’s a laudable thing, although I think it’s probably a little early in terms of providing truly useful data.
As far as “big things” go, I’m trying, man, I’m trying. One looks like it’s just about in the bag, the other is still dicey but will hopefully come together.
Regards,
Tom Knapp
OK, I’ll fix it. I was thinking it may have been something like that since it seemed unlikely there was a show with 11 million listeners that I never even heard of at all before, even as little as I pay attention to talk radio, that seemed odd.
But it does include…Norman Schwarzkopf?! Who wrote this poll, Eric Dondero? And if so, where’s Joe Lieberman and Wayne Root? LOL.
I agree, but I just put it out there since Steve is putting it in his campaign updates and let readers make of it what they will.
It’s still a loaded sample since a lot of people haven’t even heard of it. For example I am a past delegate and I never heard of it before.
Well good luck and godspeed, and I’ll report on them when it’s safe to do so just like I promised. Hope you’re feeling better too.
